On the Nature
of Things
The works in the cycle entitled 'On the Nature of Things', skilfully imagine an autonomous, feasible scenario where nature reclaims its spaces, reconfirming it is the key player of all the elements forming the planet Earth. The result is an aesthetically harmonious union created by the complicity between vivid natural elements that insinuate themselves in the nooks and crannies of half-forgotten ancestral places with the aim of emanating a feeling balanced between inherence and uncertainty, reassurance and perturbance, nostalgia and repletion that, in turn, in unison suggest a calling into question once again of pre-established anthropised scenarios. 'On the Nature of Things', ('De rerum natura') a poem by Lucretius which gives its name to the new photographic series, is the mouthpiece of the Epicurean theories on the reality of nature indisputably upheld by a 'natural order' of things, in a universe with an atomistic, materialistic and mechanistic flavour. This is a reference to personal responsibility and an exhortation to mankind to wake up to current reality, starting from the premise that humans are victims of a vehement, impetuous pathos from birth that they have never been able to really understand.
